Hello? It's May already
Wow! December me was simultaneously extremely optimistic and incredibly miserable. No surprises there, cuz guess what happened a month later? I became so depressed I was bed bound for 2 months (yippee)! Since then I've been very busy pulling my life back together. I missed so much uni I have to resit the second half of semester 2 next year, which is not optimal, but it means I have from now until January to do whatever the hell I want! Much baking, drawing, and job-hunting is about to ensue (please someone hire me I'm so broke)
So how am I doing on my new year goals?
1. Journalling
This one's been a bit hit and miss. I managed consistency until about the middle of February, and then nothing. But! I think I'm goiung to try again, because my counsellor suggested it could be a useful tool for me (check me out trying to get better)
2. Make friends
Semi-acheived? My lovely flatmate (luv u C) from halls has adopted me into her friendship group and we're all living together this next year! Double yay for me, made some friends and I'm being a real grown up with a proper flat of my own. Uni was still awful after Christmas, but with any luck, me being in a different year group when I go back will mean I can meet some new people
3. My style
I'd say I've slayed this one so far. Haven't been brave enough for a piercing yet... (I'm a sensitive soul okay), and I haven't dyed my hair in like a year, but the plan is as soon as I get steady employment I can! And clothing wise the charity shop gods have been very kind to me
4. Daily fresh air
Another goal I've done really well on! Other than the black hole that was February, I've been really good at getting the sun on my face, especially in the last couple months (Scottish summer has arrived and you bet I'm taking full advantage of the sun whilst it's here)
5. Posting online
So this one hasn't happened. Mainly because I've been too burnt out to make anything creative anyway, let alone go through the effort of putting it on the internet. I'm feeling hopeful that my creative energy is returning, so I guess we'll have to wait and see...
All in all, 2025 started pretty rough, but I'm nearly back to my usual self, so goal meeting and joy will arrive soon enough!
